Oh you need the passport now?

Mileage - does it matter anymore?  My new measure of distance is sore butt.

On a last minute audible, I decided to cut in to Canada and head North to Toronto.  I am very glad I did because this city is amazing.  I brought my Passport in the off chance I headed to Canada so I was prepared.  What I was not prepared for was to have my documents ready, on the bike, at the 'toll' booth type passthrough.

I'm not sure exactly what I was expecting, but my mental model was around getting off the bike, going into a building, standing in line, etc...  Nope.  So in-line to cross the boarder, I had to get off my bike and dig through my duffle bag to get my Passport.  I am traveling with 2 forms of identification (Passport and Driver's License), but I don't keep my documents together.  Thought process on that is to not lose 2 things with one brain fart.

First into Michigan
And then Canada

Once in Canada I followed some back roads, but the endless miles of back road farms have all started to blend together.  One thing that I did think was interesting is that, outside of Windsor, they use a lot of windmills.  Huge windmills!

About midway between Windsor and Toronto, I pulled off to have lunch and get some gas.  Here I was: An American in Canada eating Mexican near the town of London.  I know a lot of folks don't consider Taco Bell as Mexican food, but that is where they are wrong.

Toronto - what an amazing city and I suggest that everybody plan a trip to Toronto.  I had no idea how culturally diverse the city is.  I rode the bike down town (probably the most dangerous part of the motorcycle ride to date!) for dinner and it was total sensory overload.  The sights, the sounds, the smells, the people, the noises.  A very neat city!  At dinner my waitress was from Malta - she didn't get my "Maltese Falcon" joke.

Today I head back into the states (with passport in hand) down to Syracuse.  I'll be getting a late start because I have no idea what time zone my body is operating in, but my start times keep getting later and later.  Maybe a good thing since it's looking to be my first day of rain during the ride...
