Dancing with Elvis

The daily statistics seemed like a good idea when I was young and fresh.  Now that I am road worn and butt sore, doing any math is out of the question.

After another good night in Memphis...

I packed the bike and headed on a NW vector.  Actually, I packed the bike while sweating off 5 lbs of sweat because it was so hot!, and headed on a NW vector.

I've been trying to take back roads as much as possible, but my GPS and I were simply not working well today.  While getting gas North of Memphis, I asked a local for directions and received the as expected: You turn right by the old tree, then go to Blind man Jones's farm and turn left, then grab a shovel and dig a hole in the ground, stick your head in the hole...  I decided to get back on the highway.

This part of the trip was planned around having lunch in Nashville.  My next trip to Memphis will also have several days in Nashville as part of the plan.  Over lunch, I danced with Elvis, visited the absolute Mecca for vintage guitars (Gruhn Guitars), and stressed about a cop eyeing my bike.  I thought for sure I would be getting a ticket, but he was simply interested in the bike.  I seem to have developed a solid Dude Magnet collection of toys...  much to my chagrin.

North of Nashville I stayed off the highway to make sure I could get my Tennessee photo to make up for the missed opportunity South of Memphis.  Just for you Chuck!

I stayed off the main highway up through Bowling Green.  I'm not a Corvette guy (don't need another Dude magnet vehicle, right?) so I passed that up and arrived in Louisville just in time for supper.

Tomorrow is North Ohio and a couple of days visiting my buddy Rob...  I'm sure there will be several pictures taken that will certainly prevent me from ever running for office.  Just add them to the collection.
